Abstract

Due produzioni amministrative della cancelleria del Comune di Perugia, cronologicamente vicine e apparentemente affini (censimento delle cavalcature per spedizione militare del 1276 ed elenco partecipanti a una cavalcata del 1309), hanno tuttavia protagonisti e punti di vista sostanzialmente diversi. Pur essendo censiti entrambi in entrambe, nel primo caso il focus è sui cavalli, mentre nel secondo è sui cavalieri.



Two administrative records produced by the Chancery of the Commune of Perugia – chronologically close and apparently similar (a census of mounts for a military expedition in 1276 and a list of participants in a cavalcata in 1309) – nonetheless feature substantially different protagonists and perspectives. Although both men and horses are recorded in each document, in the first case the focus is on the horses, whereas in the second it is on the riders.
