Riassunto
Con questo scritto si è inteso commemorare la figura del professor Gaetano Fori perché si conservi memoria delle sue doti di agronomo, etnografo, antropologo e storico dell’agricoltura. Per far ciò si è abbondantemente attinto a testimonianze con l’intenzione di conferire allo scritto un tono corale frutto dei contributi dei tanti amici del professore. L’attenzione dedicata al Museo di storia dell’agricoltura e al rapporto con la «Rivista di storia dell’agricoltura» si affiancano a un’analisi delle radici culturali del pensiero di Forni e alle note biografiche che hanno attinto a un recente scritto autobiografico del professor Forni rimasto inedito.

Abstract
This article aims to commemorate the figure of Professor Gaetano Fori, in order to preserve the memory of his contributions as an agronomist, ethnographer, anthropologist, and historian of agriculture. To this end, extensive use has been made of testimonial sources, with the intention of lending the text a collective and polyphonic character, reflecting the contributions of the professor’s numerous colleagues and friends. Particular attention is devoted to the Museum of the History of Agriculture and to his relationship with the «Journal of the History of Agriculture», alongside an analysis of the cultural foundations of Forni’s intellectual outlook. The study is further complemented by biographical notes drawing on a recent, yet unpublished, autobiographical manuscript by Professor Forni.
